The following is a synopsis of crimes reported for the week of April 01 – April 07, 2018
April 01, 2018
- A Petty Theft was reported at 1600 Mountain Avenue (Walmart). The victim’s bicycle was stolen from the front entrance of the store.
April 02, 2018
- An Assault with a Deadly weapon was reported in the 1800 block of Cinco Robles Drive. A male suspect attempted to talk to a child in a driveway. When the child’s father came out, the suspect brandished a knife and threatened to stab him. The suspect fled in a vehicle. A few hours later, deputies located the vehicle and arrested the suspect without incident.
April 03, 2018
- No significant activity.
April 04, 2018
- A residential Burglary was reported in the 1700 block of Huntington Drive. Jewelry and currency was stolen from a room at a retirement community building.
- A Commercial Burglary was reported at 1155 Huntington Drive (The Habit). The front glass door was shattered and the business was ransacked. At the time of the report, the manager was unable to determine if anything had been stolen.
- A Grand Theft Vehicle was reported in the 1600 block of Cotter Avenue. The victim’s 2012 Kia was stolen.
April 05, 2018
- No significant activity.
April 06, 2018
- A Vehicle Burglary was reported in the 1000 block of Junipero Drive. The rear driver’s side window to the victim’s vehicle was shattered and the vehicle ransacked. Nothing appeared to have been stolen.
April 07, 2018
- A Grand Theft was reported at 902 Huntington Drive (Arco Gas Station). The victim’s wallet and cell phone were stolen from the front seat of her unlocked vehicle.
- A Petty Theft was reported in the 800 block of Mount Olive Drive. Two wheels were stolen from the victim’s vehicle.
- Deputies responded to 1533 Huntington Drive (Days Inn), regarding a report of gunshots. Upon arrival, they located several witnesses who stated a male adult discharged several rounds into the air, then fled the scene. After further investigation, deputies located the suspect in the city of Monrovia and arrested him without incident.

- Deputies arrested an adult male for under the influence of a controlled substance, an adult female for spousal assault, an adult male for possession of illegal narcotics, and an adult male for possession of narcotics for sales.

- Deputies arrested an adult male for possession of illegal narcotics.
April 06, 2018
- Deputies arrested two adult males for violation of curfew in city parks, an adult male for possession of illegal narcotics, and an adult male for assault with a deadly weapon.
April 07, 2018
- Deputies arrested an adult male for negligent discharge of a firearm.
