Hockley County Sheriff's Office calls for service and activities for Saturday, 4/7/18, through Monday, 4/9/18.

Good Tuesday morning! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Saturday, 4/7/18, through Monday, 4/9/18.

4/7/18

-700 blk Robinson, Smyer: Disturbance. Deputies were dispatched to a reported disturbance at a residence in the area. Individuals did not want to pursue any criminal charges related to the incident and parties were separated. Information was collected for a report on the incident.

-Boston Rd at America Rd, Levelland: Suspicious Vehicle. A deputy responded to a call of a suspicious vehicle in the area. The area was checked and no vehicles were located.

-Bear Rd at FM 168, Smyer: Suspicious Vehicle. A deputy was notified of a suspicious vehicle in the area. The vehicle was located and two individuals were contacted. They were identified and released. No offenses were reported.

-1400 blk W. Ellis, Levelland: Emergency Detention. Deputies responded to a call of a possible suicidal individual. The individual was contacted and transported to an area hospital for evaluation.

4/8/18

-1500 blk Cactus, Levelland: Gun Shot. A deputy was dispatched to an area hospital related to an individual who had reportedly been shot. Investigators were contacted and it was determined the wound was self-inflicted and the result of an accident. The matter was investigated and information for reports was collected.

-2900 blk Hwy 114, Levelland: Check Welfare. A deputy stopped to check on an individual walking along the highway. The individual was contacted and released. No offense was observed or reported.

-600 blk Carson, Ropesville: Disturbance. A deputy was dispatched to a domestic disturbance at a residence in the area. The complainant advised the other party left the residence prior to arrival of deputies, and that the disturbance was verbal only. No offenses were reported. Information was collected for a report on the incident.

-100 blk Hickory, Levelland: Assist Levelland PD. Deputies assisted on the scene of an incident in the area. Two individuals were detained and later arrested by Levelland PD. Levelland officers are conducting the investigation.

4/9/18

-100 blk Edwards, Anton: Death. Deputies responded to a reported unattended death at a residence. The incident is under investigation, but at this time no criminality is suspected. No information will be released at this time.

-West Houston at Gusher Rd, Levelland: Loose Livestock. A deputy was notified of loose cattle in the area. The area was checked and no loose livestock were located.

-3100 blk Adobe Rd, Levelland: Protective Order Violation. A deputy was dispatched to a possible violation of a protective order. The deputy met with the complainant and a report was completed. The incident is under investigation.

-3900 blk Foster Rd, Ropesville: Medical Issue. Deputies responded to a call of an individual needing medical attention. One person was transported by EMS to an area hospital for evaluation and treatment.

-FM 303 near FM 597, Pep: Vehicle Crash. A deputy was notified of a vehicle crash in the area. While en route the deputy was notified the crash was in Lamb County. Lamb County Sheriff’s Office was notified.

-1400 blk McHam, Levelland: Disturbance. Deputies were dispatched to a disturbance at a residence. Parties were contacted and deputies determined the incident was verbal only. No offenses were reported.

Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, patrols in all areas of the county, civil process service, traffic enforcement, and investigative follow-up activities.

Jail population as of 4/10/18 at 0800 hours: 53 in Hockley County, 3 to be processed, 18 out of county.
