The police department announces the promotions of Sergeant Robert C. Perkins II, Lieutenant Todd R. Kleisner, and Deputy Chief Terrence E. Sheridan.

On April 4, 2018, the City of Janesville Police and Fire Commission approved the promotions of Officer Robert C. Perkins II to Sergeant and Sergeant Todd R. Kleisner to Lieutenant.

Sergeant Robert C. Perkins II is a ten year veteran of the Janesville Police Department. Sergeant Perkins was promoted to the rank of Sergeant effective April 5, 2018. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Ripon College. Sergeant Perkins has experience in the following areas; Bike Patrol Unit, Domestic Violence Intervention Team, SWAT Team, and Street Crimes Unit.

Lieutenant Todd R. Kleisner is a twenty six year veteran of the Janesville Police Department. Lieutenant Kleisner was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant effective April 5, 2018. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin Platteville. Lieutenant Kleisner has experience in the following areas; Emergency Vehicle Operations Course, Radar and Laser Instructor, Field Training Officer, Fleet Supervisor, Fourth Ward Committee, Patrol Sergeant, and Small Neighborhood Groups.

Deputy Chief Terrence E. Sheridan is a twenty six year veteran of the Janesville Police Department. Deputy Chief Sheridan was promoted to Deputy Chief effective April 5, 2018. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Upper Iowa University. Deputy Chief Sheridan has experience in the following areas; Patrol, Special Operations Unit, Intoxilyzer Operator, Bike Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Hostage Negotiator, Identification Bureau, Forensic Artist, Patrol Sergeant, Field Training Coordinator, Hostage Negotiator Supervisor, Patrol Lieutenant, Investigation Division Lieutenant.

Sergeant Perkins, Lieutenant Kleisner, and Deputy Chief Sheridan will be honored in a promotion ceremony at the police department on April 10, 2018.
