Open the Door. Take the Tour. Paint the Town Blue. GBPD comes together to celebrate National Boys & Girls Club Week

The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Green Bay today kicked off the week-long celebration, National Boys & Girls Club Week. Starting today through Friday, April 13, all local Club locations are available for tours for families, kids and supporters who are interested in learning more or joining the organization.

National Boys & Girls Club Week is dedicated to teaching the community about the Club and how it supports kids within greater Green Bay. The Club also today asks community members to help “Paint the Town Blue” in support local youth.

The “Paint the Town Blue” initiative was created locally to bring community leaders and businesses together to show area youth that there is an entire city “in their corner” that believes in their potential. It involves making a prominent door at your business, office or home blue with a covering made by local Boys & Girls Club Members. GBPD will be covered in Blue today at 3:00 PM. Photos will be uploaded once the doors are covered.

To receive a “Paint the Town Blue” door covering, contact [email protected].

Community members and families are invited to schedule a tour of the Club Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Parents and children can see if the Club is right for them, while they learn about the life-changing opportunities behind each door. Those looking to invest in the futures of Club Members are also encouraged to stop by in order to learn about the organization’s programs, youth development professionals, and life-changing opportunities, which local leaders are currently making possible through financial support.

Schedule a tour time by contacting [email protected]. More information about National Boys & Girls Club Week and “Painting the Town Blue” can be found at https://www.bgcgb.org/event/national-boys-girls-club-week-2018/

Through fun, educational, hands-on and innovative after-school and summer programs, the Club helps kids and teens explore new avenues of learning, while encouraging them to reach their full potential. All programs concentrate on three core areas focus: academic success, character & leadership development, and healthy lifestyles.

Throughout the year, Club Members have the opportunity to take part various programs that offer new experiences that range from fishing trips to dance lessons, college visits and graphic design courses.
