The East Avenue Sewer Relief Project has completed the pipe installation and the construction company is installing catch basins and other work in preparation to repave East Avenue later in the summer. There will be rolling work zones during the week with East Avenue completely closed to all traffic except EMS, Fire and school buses, however they should expect delays as work crews would need to place steel plates and move equipment for them to pass.
Most of the construction this week is on East Avenue in the area between 8th and 6th Streets.
The residents in the East Avenue Sewer Relief Project work zone will be notified daily as to how they can access their driveways.
East Avenue remains closed and drivers should use the detour routes for East Avenue of Middle Avenue and East River Street. The detour routes are posted.
