Narrative:
The Camarillo Police Department will be hosting a Senior Citizen Driver’s Education Class. The Senior Citizen Driver’s Education Class is a cooperative effort between the Camarillo Health Care District, Camarillo Police Department, Department of Motor Vehicles, and senior drivers.
In an attempt to remain proactive and not reactive, the Senior Citizen Driver’s Education Class is designed to help senior drivers understand how age related issues could affect a person’s ability to operate a motor vehicle. The Senior Citizen’s Education Class will offer lecture on issues related to senior citizen drivers, advice on how to be a safe driver, information for care givers, alternate forms of transportation and community resources available to seniors. Our goal is to raise awareness and reduce the number of a senior-related injuries and deaths due to traffic collisions.
Senior Drivers or their caregivers are encouraged to attend the class. If interested you are asked to contact the Camarillo Police Department Community Resource Unit at (805) 388-5155. Space is limited to 30 participants. There is no charge to attend the program.
