Police Blotter March 15th thru April 1st

March 16th:

Shoplifter – Walgreens 11565 San Pablo Ave: At 0752 hours, Officers responded to the report 20 year-old Richmond man stealing food items from the business. He was not located but he steals so frequently, the staff and officers know him by name.

Warrant Arrest - Central Ave. / Pierce St:
At 1549 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and contacted a 50 year-old Richmond man. He was wanted on a No-Bail burglary warrant from Marin County. He was arrested and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Shoplift – 10650 San Pablo Ave (CVS):
At 1911 hours, an officer reports the arrest of a 36 year-old male from Richmond after the male entered the business and concealed a bottle of alcohol in his pants. The male was located a short distance away and was identified. The male was booked and taken to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Possession of Controlled Substance and False identification – 11565 San Pablo Ave:
At 1910 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and subsequently arrested the passenger, a 48 year-old female from Richmond, for being in possession of a controlled substance and giving a name of another during the contact. The female was booked then released on a citation.

Warrant Arrest – 900 Block of Galvin Dr:
At 0049 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver, a 41 year-old male from El Cerrito, for an outstanding warrant. The male was booked and transported to Martinez Detention Facility.

Warrant Arrest – I-80 and Carlson Blvd:
At 0047 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver, a 32 year-old male from Oakland, for an outstanding warrant. The male was released with a citation.

DUI – San Pablo Avenue and Manila Ave:
At 0432 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver, a 24 year old male from Alameda, for driving while under the influence. The male was booked and then released to a sober friend.

March 17th:

Commercial Burglary – Strings - 11720 San Pablo Ave:
At 0802 hours, officers responded to the report of a front window smash of Strings restaurant. Between 2200 hours and 0730 hours, an unidentified suspect used a utility cover to smash the front door window. The serving counter was ransacked but there was no loss.

Burglary / Trespassing - 500 block of Edwards Ave:
At 1256 hours, an officer responded to the report of a suspicious person inside the residence. This residence is currently vacant and the owner arrived with a crew of workers. They discovered a 30 year-old Richmond woman inside taking a shower. The suspect apparently let herself in via an unlocked door. The owner granted her request to stay, but when she didn’t leave after an hour, she called the police. She had a felony burglary warrant. She was booked and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility on the warrant.

Robbery / Warrant - Sketchers 5815 Cutting Blvd:
At 1512 hours, officers responded to the report of a robbery. A 52 year-old Oakland man stole shoes and then shoved the manager aside as he tried to recover the property. A passerby assisted the security guard with detaining him at the corner of Cutting Blvd./San Pablo Ave. The suspect was also wanted on a no cite narcotics warrant from the Oakland PD. He was arrested, booked, and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Shoplifting/ Parole Violation - Walgreens 11565 San Pablo Ave:
At 1548 hours, an officer responded to the report of a shoplifting in progress. Officers located a 59 year-old woman in the parking lot. She stole approximately $175 worth of merchandise. She refused to provide her name or speak to officers. After about 45 minutes of talking to her, she provided her name. She was determined to be a parolee-at-large and on PRCS from San Mateo County. She was arrested, booked, and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Domestic Violence – 10200 Block of San Pablo Ave:
At 2134 hours, officers responded to a disturbance at an apartment complex where a neighbor heard a person yelling for help. Officers arrived on scene and heard a cry for help coming from the apartment in question. Officers made entry into the apartment where they found the victim and suspect. The victim had multiple injuries and was taken to the hospital. The suspect, a 44 year-old male from San Pablo, was taken into custody. The male was booked and then taken to the Martinez Detention Facility.

DUI – 10621 San Pablo Ave:
At 2314 hours, an officer responded to a collision and discovered the driver of a vehicle, a 63 year-old male from Magalia, was driving while under the influence. The male was booked and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Warrant Arrest – Central Ave and Pierce St:
At 0409 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop on a 32 year-old male urinating on a building and discovered the male had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The male was booked and taken to the Martinez Detention Facility.

March 18th:

Auto Burglary 6900 blk of Stockton Ave:
At 1100 hours, an officer responded to the report of an auto burglary. Sometime overnight, an unidentified suspect smashed the window of a work truck and stole two jack stands and two boxes of tools.

Warrant Arrest - Richmond St./ Moser Lane:
At 1208 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and contacted a 28 year old Berkeley man. He was wanted on a misdemeanor warrant from the Berkeley Police Department. He was field cited and released.

Shoplifter - Lucky’s - 1000 EC Plaza:
At 1248 hours, officers responded to the report of a subject wearing a bright plaid yellow shirt, pink backpack, and red baseball cap stealing deli items and alcoholic beverages from Lucky. Offices located a 27 year-old Oakland male sitting by Starbucks eating the deli items. He was placed under citizen’s arrest. The male was arrested, booked, and released on a citation.

DUI – San Pablo Ave and Hill St:
At 2227 hours, an officer observed a truck driving recklessly on San Pablo Avenue and a traffic stop was conducted. The driver, a 39 year-old male from Richmond, was driving under the influence. The male was booked then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

March 19th:

Warrant – San Pablo Ave / Fairmount Ave:
At 2319 hours, an officer stopped a 41 year-old man from Elk Grove riding a bicycle, and determined he was wanted on a no-bail Alameda County warrant. He was arrested, booked, and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

March 20th:

Warrant – San Pablo Ave / Moeser Lane:
At 2100 hours, officers responded to an unwanted subject inside CVS throwing and breaking items. The 27 year-old Concord man was located in front of Baskin Robins and detained. There was no crime at CVS but he was wanted on a no-cite Contra Costa County warrant. The man was arrested and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Public Intoxication – 7800 Block Potrero Ave:
At 2116 hours, officers responded to an unwanted subject banging on the caller’s door. Despite the heavy rain, the man was only wearing a pair of shorts and no shirt. En route to the call, dispatch received an alarm activation from the residence. Officers arrived and detained a 49 year-old man from El Cerrito. He was heavily intoxicated and arrested. He was transported directly to Martinez Detention Facility.

March 21st:

Battery – 7800 block Burns Ct:
At 1739 hours, an officer responded to a suspicious circumstance. Upon arrival it was determined a 33 year old woman from El Cerrito became upset with her mother during an argument over her car and struck her mother. She was placed under citizen arrest and transported to ECPD for booking. She was released on a citation.

Public Intoxication – 1700 block Manor Cir:
At 2126 hours, officers responded to burglary in progress. The male suspect was trying to break the front door down. Officers arrived and detained a 49 year-old man from El Cerrito who was intoxicated. The man was arrested and booked at the ECPD.

March 22nd:

Shoplifting – Walgreens, 11565 San Pablo Ave:
At 1919 hours, officers responded to a theft. A 19 year-old male suspect from Richmond was located nearby and detained. He was positively identified during an infield-show-up and placed under citizen arrest. He was booked at the ECPD then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Auto Burglary – 190 El Cerrito Plaza:
Between 0930 and 2000 hours, an unknown suspect broke the rear wing window of the victim’s vehicle and entered the vehicle. Once inside, the suspect pulled down the back seat to access the trunk. The victim was unable to identify anything missing.

Warrant, Possess Controlled Substance – Walnut Ave / Blake Street:
At 2251 hours, officers responded to a report of a man kicking cars in the area. A 34 year-old man from Alamo was located and detained. The man was wanted on a no-cite Contra Costa County Warrant and arrested. He was found to be possession of methamphetamine during a search incident to arrest. He was booked at the ECPD and then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

March 23rd:

Disorderly Conduct (Public Intoxication) 11861 San Pablo Ave:
At 1056 hours, a 33 year-old man was observed sitting on the rock bordering entrance to the Home Depot parking lot drinking beer. He was determined to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. He was arrested, booked, and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility

Shoplifting- 5805 Cutting Blvd:
At 1120 hours, an officer responded to the report of a subject stealing shoes. The subject squared up on the manager and took a fighting stance when asked to return the shoes.

Warrant Arrest - 670 EC Plaza:
At 1457 hours, officers responded to the report of an intoxicated person. A 27 year-old Richmond man was arrested for two warrants.

March 24th:

Strongarm Robbery / Criminal Threats / Resisting Arrest / Probation Violation– 11450 San Pablo Ave (Safeway):
At 2044 hours, an officer responded to the business for a report of an unwanted person who attempted to fight security. The officer arrived and discovered a 41 year-old Emeryville man had concealed items in his backpack and when confronted, he got into the security guard’s face and tried to hit her. The man was located a short distance away and arrested. He was booked and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Possess Controlled Substance / Possess Drug Paraphernalia / Prowling / Vehicle Tampering / Probation Violation – 11425 San Pablo Ave:
At 2150 hours, officers conducted a security check to the rear of the American Home Furnishings store and found a 58 year-old transient man in the cab of one the business’ moving trucks. A probation search of his person revealed .10 grams of methamphetamine and a pipe. A records check revealed the man was on probation for drug possession. The man was booked and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Prowling – 7200 block Gladys Ave:
At 2207 hours, officers responded to a suspicious circumstance at a residence. The reporting party advised an unknown suspect knocked on her front door and also tried to open it by turning the knob. The suspect demanded to be let in and threatened to steal the resident’s socks. Officers arrived in the area but could not locate the suspect.

March 25th:

False Identification / Controlled Substance Possession Barrett Ave. /Yuba St.
At 1027 hours, an officer contacted a 41 year-old San Pablo woman and a 41 year-old Richmond man during a suspicious vehicle check. The woman presented another person’s identification and was also in possession of other people’s credit card. Both were arrested, booked, and released on a citation.

Grand Theft - 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 1009 hours, an officer responded to the report of a purse grab from an unlocked vehicle.

Warrant Arrest - San Pablo Ave. /Manila Ave.:
At 1234, an officer contacted a 28 year-old Oakland man wanted on a misdemeanor DUI warrant. He was booked and released on a citation.

Warrant Arrest – Cutting Blvd / I-80:
At 2145 hours, an officer made a vehicle stop and determined one of the vehicle’s occupants was wanted on a $5000 Contra Costa County warrant. The 40 year-old Richmond man was field cited.

Warrant Arrest / False Identification – Cutting Blvd / San Pablo Ave:
At 2240 hours, an officer made a vehicle stop and one of the vehicle’s occupants identified herself verbally as a person who turned out to be wanted on a $20K mandatory appearance theft warrant out of Santa Clara. Upon arriving at the police department for booking, the 45 year-old Oakland woman admitted to her true identity. Under her true name, she turned out to have two small misdemeanor warrants out of Santa Clara and Oakland.

March 26th:
Vehicle Burglary – TRO 10512 San Pablo Ave (Ah-Lan Dance Studio):
Between 1625-2050 hours, an unknown suspect smashed the right front window of the victim’s vehicle. The suspect rummaged through the glove compartment and stole a Dolce and Gabana sunglasses and the vehicle’s manual.

Possess Controlled Substance and Paraphernalia – Peerless Ave / Cutting Blvd:
At 0127 hours, an officer contacted the occupant of a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of the Jack in the Box. The 37 year-old Madera man was found to have .2 gram of methamphetamine and a glass smoking pipe. The man was also in possession of a BB pistol. He was booked and cited.

March 27th

Shoplift- 10650 San Pablo Ave (CVS)
At 1343 hours, officers were dispatched to CVS in regards to a theft that had just occurred. An officer located the 27 year-old male from Richmond several blocks away who matched the description. The male was identified during an infield show-up and placed under citizen’s arrest. The male released on a citation in the field.

Shoplift- 11450 San Pablo Ave. (Safeway)
At 1430 hours, an officer responded to Safeway and accepted the citizen’s arrest of 49 year-old male. The male attempted to walk out of Safeway with merchandise when he was contacted by loss prevention agents. The male was booked at the ECPD and released on a citation.

Robbery and Warrant Arrest – 11450 San Pablo Ave (Safeway):
At 1837 hours, an officer accepted the citizen’s arrest of a 58 year-old male from Richmond after he entered the business and concealed items in a bag. The male was confronted by store loss prevention and attempted to push past them. The male was taken into custody and during booking it was discovered the male had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

March 28th

Warrant Arrest-200 Block of Pomona Ave.
At 0907 hours, officers were dispatched to the area on a report of a naked male walking around in the area. Officers located the 43 year-old male of El Cerrito. The male attempted to run from the officers, but was detained a short distance way. During a records check, officers discovered the male had an outstanding Alameda County warrant. The male was transported directly to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Shoplifting – 10650 San Pablo Ave (CVS):
At 2013 hours, an officer accepted the citizen’s arrest of a 22 year-old male from Richmond, after the male entered the business and attempted to leave without paying for concealed items. The male was booked and then released on a citation.

Warrant Arrest – 11450 San Pablo Ave (Safeway):
At 2214 hours, an officer contacted an unwanted person inside the business and discovered the subject, a 28 year-old female from San Francisco, had an outstanding warrant out for her arrest. The female was booked and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

DUI and Driving with a Suspended License – San Pablo Ave and Portola Dr:
At 0106 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and subsequently arrested the driver, a 24 year-old male from Oakland, for driving under the influence. The male was also on DUI probation and driving with a suspended license. The male was booked and released to a sober friend.

March 29th

Warrant Arrest- 11565 San Pablo Ave. (Walgreens):
At 0941 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop on a 33 year-old Richmond man, and determined he had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. The man was cited released in the field.

Possession of drug paraphernalia/Possession of burglary tools- 1900 Block Key Blvd.:
At 1507 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and contacted a 31 year-old Richmond man. It was determined the man was in possession of burglary tools and drug paraphernalia. The man was transported to ECPD for booking and released on a citation.

March 30th

Stolen Vehicle Report – Trader Joes 225 El Cerrito Plaza
The victim’s 2000 green Honda Civic was stolen sometime between March 25th between 0930 – 1730 hours.

March 31st

Shoplifting – CVS 10650 San Pablo Ave.
At 1114 hours, an unknown suspect entered CVS and concealed several Tylenol bottles in his clothing. When confronted by the manager, the suspect threw one of the bottles back inside the store and left.

Fraudulent Use of Credit Cards – Marshall’s 10794 San Pablo Ave.
At 1355 hours, two suspects used the victim’s credit/debit card and made several fraudulent purchases totaling $1,451. The victim lives in Texas and called Marshall’s when she was alerted by her Bank of the illegal transactions. The suspects were still on scene when the victim called the store, but fled prior to police arrival.

Warrant Arrest – Parking lot of Dollar Tree 11555 San Pablo Ave –
At 1543 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver, a 20 year-old male, on a Marin County shoplifting warrant. The male was booked at the police station and released on a citation.

April 1st

Robbery (Strong Armed) – Subway 10398 San Pablo Ave.
At 1041 hours, an officer reports that when the victim opened the cash register, the suspect reached over the counter and grabbed all the money from the till.

Tampering with a Vehicle – 700 block of Pomona Ave.
Sometime between 2100 hours on March 31st and 1030 hours on April 1st, an unknown suspect stole all four custom rims and tires off the victim’s vehicle.

Intoxicated in Public and Warrant Arrest – Burger King 6021 Central Ave.
At 1356 hours, officers responded to the restaurant for two males physically fighting inside. According to witnesses, one of the males was armed with a baseball bat. Officers detained a 37 year-old male from Oakland outside holding a green aluminum baseball bat.
During an argument with his friends, the male began to swing the bat in the air, but never hit anyone with it. A customer tried to intervene, and the male told the customer he would use the bat on him. The male was highly intoxicated and had a no-bail probation violation warrant out of Alameda County. The male was transported directly to the Martinez Detention Facility.
