March 2nd, 2018

Auto Burglary – 5700 block of Lassen Blvd: At 0938 hours, an officer responded to the report of an auto burglary. An unidentified suspect smashed the window of a Nissan Frontier and ransacked the interior between 1900 hours on 03/01/2018 and 0845 hours on 03/02/2018.

Residential Burglary – 900 Block Norvell St: At 1504 hours, an officer responded to the report of a residential burglary. Between 1330 hours and 1530 hours, an unidentified suspect pried open the front door and stole a property.

Shoplifting – Bed Bath and Beyond - 6000 EC Plaza: At 1634 hours, an officer responded to the report of a male subject who stole a comforter and fled on foot.

Shoplifting, Probation Violation, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Hypo Needles, Warrant Arrest– 11565 San Pablo Ave (Walgreen’s):
At 2122 hours, officers arrested a 38 year-old male after he entered the business, concealed items in a bag, and attempted to leave without paying. The male was contacted and placed under citizen’s arrest. A search of the suspect revealed drug paraphernalia and a stolen cellular phone. The suspect also had a warrant for his arrest from the Berkeley Police Department.

Vandalism – 900 block of Avis Dr:
At 2309 hours, an officer reports an unknown suspect shattered a window to the victim’s Nissan Pathfinder.

Possession of a Stolen Vehicle – San Pablo Ave and Cutting Blvd:
At 0128 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver, a 22 year-old female from Vallejo, for being in possession of a stolen vehicle. The female also had two warrants for her arrest. The female was booked and then transported to Martinez Detention Facility.

March 3rd, 2018:
Vandalism - Everett St. / Lincoln Ave: At 0704 hours, an officer responded to the report of several vehicles with their tires slashed. The vandalism occurred between 2200 hours and 0700 hours.

Warrant Arrest - 7000 block of Stockton Ave: At 1443 hours, an officer contacted a 29 year-old Richmond man who was wanted on a felony warrant. He was arrested, booked, and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Burglary – 225 El Cerrito Plaza (Trader Joe’s):
At 1757 hours, an officer reports an unknown suspect shattered the rear driver side window of the victim’s vehicle and removed a newly purchased suit case from the backseat. Time of occurrence was between 1745 and 1755 hours.

Warrant Arrest – San Pablo Ave and Ohio Ave:
At 1855 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and subsequently arrested the driver, a 39 year-old male from Albany, for a probation violation warrant. The male was booked and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Robbery – 11450 San Pablo Ave (Safeway):
At 2122 hours, an officer reports a subject entered the business and attempted to leave without paying for property. Loss prevention agents attempted to take back the property but the subject pushed them and fled the business.

Shoplifting – 11450 San Pablo Ave (Safeway):
At 2122 hours, an officer arrested a 34 year-old man from Richmond, after he male entered the store and concealed an item in his pants. The male was contacted by police and the property was recovered. He was booked then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Criminal Threats – 10200 block of San Pablo Ave:
At 1957 hours, an officer reports the arrest of a 29 year-old male, after the male made threats to harm the property manager. Upon arrival, officers took the man into custody.

DUI – San Pablo Ave and Solano Ave (Albany):
At 2339 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver, a 63 year-old man from Oakland, for driving under the influence. The male was booked and then released to a sober friend.

Warrant Arrest – San Pablo Ave and Eastshore Blvd:
At 0041 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and subsequently arrested the driver, a 31 year-old man from Vallejo, for two outstanding warrants. The male was booked and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

March 4th, 2018:

Assault - Walgreens 11565 San Pablo Ave. / Safeway – 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 0753 hours and then again at 1316 hours, an officer responded to the report of a theft at Walgreens. Both times, a 19 year-old Richmond man entered the store and helped himself to food items and then fled on foot.
He initially eluded capture until 1705 hours, when officers responded to the report of a suspicious person at Safeway. The same subject attempted to punch the manager yesterday and hit another unknown subject as well. He was located at the BART station and placed under citizen’s arrest by the managers from both stores. He was booked and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Warrant Arrest – San Pablo Ave and Cutting Blvd:
At 1954 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and subsequently arrested 57 year-old male from Richmond, for an outstanding warrant. The male was booked and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Arson – 10551 San Pablo Ave:
At 0107 hours, an officer responded to a report of a fire near the area of San Pablo Avenue and Moeser Lane. An officer arrived on scene and located a small dumpster on fire in front of the listed address. No suspects were located.

March 6th:
Auto Burglary – 11565 San Pablo Ave (Walgreens): Between 2110 and 2115 hours, an unknown suspect broke the front passenger window of the victim’s vehicle and stole cash.

Warrant Arrest – Potrero Ave / I-80: At 2327 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested a 53 year-old woman from Oakland on an outstanding Berkeley PD warrant. She was released in the field on a citation.

March 7th:
Hit and Run Collision – Potrero Ave / Eastshore Blvd: At 1814 hours, an officer responded to a hit-and-run collision where an unknown suspect struck the traffic signal at the northwest corner of the intersection knocking it over.

March 8th:
Domestic Violence, Possess Controlled Substance/Paraphernalia –6400 block Portola Dr: At 0201 hours, officers responded to a call of an assault with a deadly weapon. Upon arrival, officers could hear an argument from inside the apartment and contacted the victim and the 49 year-old male suspect from El Cerrito. As a result of the investigation, the male was arrested for domestic violence and found to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The man was booked at the ECPD and then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

March 9th:

Stolen Motorcycle - 7400 block of Terrace Dr: At 0839 hours, an officer responded to the theft of a blue 2000 Suzuki SV650 motorcycle. The motorcycle was stolen in between 03/06/2018 at 1900 hours and 03/09/2018 at 0830 hours.

Auto Burglary- 6400 block of Portola Dr: At 0845 hours, an officer responded to the report of two vehicles which were burglarized in the parking lot. A $3000 stereo system was stolen from one vehicle and misc. tools and a case of water was stolen from the other.

Stolen Truck 8600 Terrace Dr: An officer reports the theft of a Honda SUV which was stolen between 2330 hours and 0300 hours.

Warrant Arrest - 11450 San Pablo Ave: At 1128 hours, an officer contacted a 27 year-old Richmond man who was wanted on a felony robbery warrant. He was arrested, booked, and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Package Theft / Warrant Arrest - 300 block of Pomona St:
At 1140 hours, Officers responded the report of a suspicious subject possibly stealing packages on Rockway Ave. The subject, a 42 year-old subject was contacted riding his bicycle near Manila Ave. He was wanted on a felony domestic violence warrant. He had packages under his clothes, including a pair of women’s black high heel pumps. Officers responded to Rockway Ave. and located the packaging for the shoes which indicated they were stolen off the porch in the 300 block of Pomona Ave. The subject was booked and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility. The owner of the shoes was reunited with them before she knew they were stolen.

March 10th:

Auto Burglary – 1500 block of Lexington Ave: At 1015 hours, an officer responded to the report of an auto burglary. Between 1930 hours and 0915 hours, an unidentified suspect broke the window of a vehicle and stole a bag of clothes.

March 13th:

Auto Burglary- Macaroni Grill, 8000 El Cerrito Plaza: At 1930 hours, an officer reports a suspect smashed the rear passenger window of the victim’s BMW and took unknown items.

Auto Burglary- Family Dental Group, 10005 San Pablo Ave: At 1939 hours, an officer reports an unknown suspect smashed the rear window of victim’s vehicle, but did not take anything.

Auto Burglary- Macaroni Grill, 8000 El Cerrito Plaza: At 1945 hours, an officer reports an unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger window of the victim’s BMW, but did not take anything.

Auto Burglary- Macaroni Grill, 8000 El Cerrito Plaza: At 1945 hours, an officer reports suspect smashed rear passenger window of the victim’s Ford and stole a Dell laptop which cost $1000.00.

March 14th:

Residential Burglary, 5300 block of Silva Ave: At 1800 hours, an officer reports an unknown suspect entered the victim’s residence via an unlocked second story window. The suspect stole only electronics and did not ransack the place. The alarm sounded, but the homeowner cancelled the police because he thought his cats set it off. TOO: 3/13/18 0854 hours.
