The National Weather Service in Lake Charles has issued a

* Flood Advisory for... Northwestern Beauregard Parish in southwestern Louisiana... Central Vernon Parish in west central Louisiana... Central Newton County in southeastern Texas... Northeastern Hardin County in southeastern Texas... Southeastern Jasper County in southeastern Texas...

* Until 1245 AM CDT

* At 938 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause minor flooding in the advisory area. Up to two inches of rain have already fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Leesville, Silsbee, Newton, Kirbyville, Rosepine, Merryville, Fort Polk, De Ridder, Slagle, Call, Bon Weir, Burkeville, Deridder, New Llano, Trout Creek, Junction, Stringtown, Caney Head, Burr Ferry and Roganville. Additional rainfall of One to Two inches is possible over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.

* AFFECTED AREAS: VERNON
