Sunnyvale, CA. - On 03/29/2018 at 2:45 p.m., Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety officers arrested 33-year-old Alexander Montes at his home in San Jose for the fatal hit and run collision that killed 61-year-old Elida Garcia on 03/01/18. Garcia was a pedestrian crossing El Camino Real at Maria Lane when she was struck by a vehicle driven by Montes.  

Alexander Montes was booked into County jail on the following charges:

1. Vehicular Manslaughter – Penal Code 192(c) (e)
2. Felony Hit and Run – Vehicle Code 20001(a) CVC
