1 injured in crash





Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports that on 3/30/18 at 1004 hours, his office was called to investigate a personal injury crash at the intersection of Decatur rd and Kelsey Lake st. in Penn Township, Cass County Michigan. 19 yr old, Jasper Indiana resident, Jason Thrasher, was Westbound on Kelsey lake st when he failed to stop at the signed intersection. This caused a collision between him and the oncoming commercial vehicle driven by 69 year old, Roger Turner of Cassopolis. This collision cause Mr. Turner vehicle to go into oncoming traffic and crash into another commercial vehicle being driven by 50 yr old, Jeffery Leland of Cassopolis. Mr. Thrasher was taken by ambulance to Elkhart General Hospital for treatment. Seat belts are believed to have been used by all and Alcohol is not believed to be a factor. This case remains under investigation.
