Newark Police Investigating Homicide- Victim Identified 
Newark, California (Wednesday, March 28, 2018)
On March 23, 2018 at approximately 10:58 p.m., Newark Police Officers responded to a report of gunshots heard in the area of the 7700 block of Wells Ave.
Upon arrival, officers located a male, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was declared deceased on scene.
Newark Police Department Detectives are investigating the incident, which is not believed to be a random act, as a homicide.
The victim has been identified as John Amos, a 38-year-old male resident of Newark.
Newark Police Department Detectives are continuing with the investigation. Additional details are not available at this time.
