Report of a wrong way driver on US 41 nets arrest of Illinois woman on DUI charge. 
On March 28, 2018, at 12:01 a.m. Gibson County Central Dispatch received a report of a vehicle traveling Southbound in the Northbound lanes of US 41 near the Knox and Gibson County Line. Upon arriving in the area Deputy U.B. Smith located a 2011 Grey Toyota Prius traveling Southbound in the Northbound lane of US 41 and initiated a traffic stop. Upon approaching the vehicle Deputy Smith identified the driver as 31 year old Jennifer Bower of Oblong, Illinois. At that point Deputy Smith began a roadside DUI investigation that resulted in Ms. Bower being taken into custody and transported to the Gibson County Jail. Upon arriving at the Gibson County Jail Ms. Bower was charged with Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated. She remains in custody on a $1,300 bond.
Assisting Deputy Smith in his investigation were officers from the Gibson County Sheriff’s Office and Princeton Police Department.
All Criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
