(Etowah County, Alabama) An Etowah County man has been arrested in connection to burglary and criminal mischief, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.

“Barry Lee Payne, 27, of Gadsden, is charged with one count of third degree burglary, a felony, and one count of third degree criminal mischief, a misdemeanor,” investigator Adam Chapman said.

Payne broke into Gaston School and damaged property on the campus after he stated that he intentionally ingested meth. Evidence left behind at the school led to Payne’s arrest.

Payne was booked into the Etowah County Detention Center and later released on $3,000 bond.
