Good Monday morning! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Saturday, 3/24/18, through Sunday, 3/25/18.

3/24/18

-400 blk W. 8th St, Sundown: Suspicious Activity. Deputies responded to a call of individuals lying down near residences in the area. Several individuals were contacted who were playing a game. No offenses were reported or observed.

-Hwy 385 near FM 41, Levelland: Traffic Complaint. A deputy was dispatched to attempt to locate a vehicle broke down along the highway possibly causing a traffic obstruction. The area was checked and the vehicle was later located in Terry County.

-900 blk 2nd St, Smyer: Check Welfare. Deputies were dispatched to check welfare of an individual at a residence in the area. The individual was contacted and no areas of concern were observed. Information was communicated to relatives.

-600 blk N. West Ave, Levelland: Alarm. A deputy responded to an alarm at a business in the area. The building was secure and no offenses were observed.

3/25/18

-N. Barton Ln at Georgia Rd, Levelland: Vehicle Crash. A deputy was dispatched to a vehicle crash in the area. DPS troopers arrived on scene to conduct the crash investigation. Deputies assisted as needed on scene.

-100 blk Alaska Rd, Levelland: Animal Complaint. A deputy was notified of a sick pet at a residence in the area. Contact was made with a veterinarian and the individual transported the pet for treatment.

-FM 303 at Jamaica Rd, Pettit: Unwanted Subject. A deputy responded to a reported unwanted subject at a residence. Individuals were contacted and one subject was transported from the residence. Trespass notification was given.

-4000 blk Bald Eagle Rd, Levelland: Animal Complaint. A deputy responded to a call of an animal hit by a car. The owner was contacted and civil remedies were advised to parties.

-Mockingbird Rd at Cardinal Ln, Levelland: Disturbance. Deputies were dispatched to a possible fight in progress in the area. Several individuals were contacted and advised the parties left the area prior to arrival of deputies. No offenses were reported.

Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, patrols in all areas of the county, investigative follow up activities, and civil process service.

Jail population as of 3/26/18 at 0800 hours: 61 in Hockley County, 2 to be processed, 12 out of county.
