LOCATION: Alder Drive and Tasman Drive
CASE #: 18-081-015
SUSPECT: Richard Nieves Ramirez Velador, 34-year-old transient from Gilroy
SUSPECT VEHICLE: Black 1997 Chevrolet Suburban SUV

On March 22, 2018, at about 3:00 A.M., Milpitas Police officers responded to the intersection of Alder Drive and Tasman Drive about a call of a driver passed out at the wheel of a Chevrolet Suburban SUV stopped at intersection. Officers found the SUV with the engine running and the driver, later identified as Richard Velador, asleep. When Velador woke up and got out of his SUV, he ran away from the officers. After a short chase, the officers arrested him. The officers searched his SUV and found marijuana, a ΒΌ pound of methamphetamine, and a ballistic vest, similar to what police officers wear.
