Narrative: |
|||||
During the month of March 2018, detectives with the Thousand Oaks Police Department’s Special Enforcement Unit and Sheriff’s Gang Unit began investigating the theft of multiple vehicles from a car dealership in Ventura. On March 15, 2018, Detectives with the Special Enforcement Unit located two stolen vehicles in the 1200 block of Calle Arroyo in the City of Thousand Oaks. As part of that investigation, they served a search warrant at a residence also located in the 1200 block of Calle Arroyo. As a result of their investigation, detectives developed probable cause to believe Alex Mirras and Antonia Carachure were in violation of California Vehicle Code 10851(a) – Unlawful Taking of a Vehicle. Carachure and Mirras were located during the service of the search warrant and arrested for vehicle theft. Carachure posted bail in the amount of $50,000 and Mirras posted bail in the amount of $20,000. During the subsequent investigation, detectives identified an employee at the dealership, Ali Maadarani, as a co-conspirator in the vehicle thefts. Detectives determined there was probable cause to believe Maadarani was in violation of Penal Code 182(a)(1) PC – Conspiracy to Commit a Crime, Vehicle Code 10851(a) – Unlawful Taking of a Vehicle, and Penal Code 508 – Embezzlement over $950. On March 22, detectives from the Sheriff’s Gang Unit and Special Enforcement Unit located Maadarani at his place of employment, located in the 6000 block of King Drive in the City of Ventura. Maadarani was arrested and booked into the Main Jail, where his bail was set at $200,000. On March 23, detectives with the Thousand Oaks Special Enforcement Unit, Directed Enforcement Unit and Sheriff’s Gang Unit served a search warrant at Maadarani’s residence, located in the 39000 block of Chantilly Lane in the City of Palmdale. Detectives located additional evidence related to the vehicle thefts at that home. |
