On 03/23/18 at approximately 1:20 a.m. Frankfort Police Officers were conducting regular subdivision patrols.  At that time, a suspicious person was discovered in the Charrington Subdivision.  Officers also located an additional suspicious person waiting in a nearby vehicle.  Through further conversation, we were able to determine their intent was to look for open garages and unlocked vehicles in the area to burglarize.  However, due to quick actions by the officers, these crimes were prevented.  Although no thefts had been committed by the suspects, the person in the vehicle did not have a valid driver’s license and was charged with traffic offenses.   We again remind residents the best way to avoid being a victim of these incidents is to lock your doors. Also remember to remove valuables and take them in the house if you are unable then remove them from plain view, and please NEVER leave your keys or key fobs in your car. We ask that if you see anything out of the ordinary or hear anything, such as a car door shutting or dog barking at an unusual time, call Frankfort Police Department immediately at 911 (emergency) or 815-485-2500 (non-emergency). Working with the community is the best way for you to help us to stop crime. Remember “Lock it or Lose it!!” and if you “See (or hear) Something, Say Something”, and call police.
