14-year-old boy identified in school graffiti threats.

On Monday, March 19th 2018 Harmony Union School was placed on lockdown after threatening graffiti was found in the boys’ bathroom. Parents were notified and they came and picked up their kids in an orderly manner.

As a result of the threats, Sheriff’s Deputies along with school staff, investigated the incident and they identified a 14-year-old boy who confessed to making the writings. The boy’s parents assisted in the investigation and are holding him accountable. The boy was released to the custody of his parents. The follow up discipline will be handled by school staff and the matter is being referred to the District Attorney’s Juvenile Division for criminal charges.

At this time we don’t believe the boy was serious about carrying out the threats and he doesn’t have any means to carry out the threats. It is believed he only wanted to get out of school early.
