Advisory

Public Works employees are still working to clear municipal roads of snow and ice from yesterday's storm.

Department of Public Works employees are still working to clear all municipal roadways of snow and ice from yesterday’s storm. Employees have been working split shifts since 4:00 am yesterday morning and will continue until all municipal roads are clear for residents to travel. Please be patient, the storm lasted much longer than originally forecast and provided a very heavy wet cumbersome snowfall. It is much more difficult for our pickup trucks to clear the heavier more cumbersome snow from the road and requires our smaller trucks to make extra passes per street to clear the travel lanes. Additionally, we are starting to receive an increased amount of phone calls to report fallen trees and downed electric lines that are blocking municipal roadways. Responding to these calls requires plow drivers to stop plowing the roads and devote their time to either cutting the trees or blocking roadways. In addition to the heavy wet snow, responding to tree and wires calls is prolonging the completion of plow operations. Thank you for your continued support, patience, and understanding as we work vigorously to provide these much-needed services for you, the great residents of Pemberton Township.
