Homeowner thwarts robbery attempt.
On 3/21/18, a little after 10:00 PM, SVPD Officers responded to the 2400 block of Ridge View Ct. Simi Valley, in reference to a possible attempted residential burglary. While responding to the call Officers learned that that the suspect was being detained by neighbors to the front of the location, after he had attempted to forcibly enter an area residence. Further investigation at the scene revealed that as the victim arrived home he was confronted by the suspect, Miles Hacock 09/12/1992, in his driveway. Hacock, who was verbally aggressive, snatched the victim's keys from him and stated that he was now going to steal the victim's vehicle. The victim immediately retreated towards his residence in fear for his safety and in an attempt to notify family members, but was closely followed by Hacock who attempted to force his way into the residence. Hacock eventually threw a brick through one of the residence windows, at which point he was confronted by the victim's father and held until Officers arrived. Hacock suffered minor injuries while being taken to the ground by the victim's father. Hacock was ultimately arrested for Robbery and booked at the Ventura County Main Jail.
