The suspicious device in Lower Lake has been rendered safe. Highway 53 has been reopened. 
At 2:05 P.M. today, the device resembling an improvised explosive was rendered safe by the Napa County Sheriff's Office Bomb Squad. It did not appear that the device was an explosive. Highway 53 has been reopened.
