SNOW EMERGENCY declared by YORKTOWN effective 9:00 AM, Wednesday, March 21,2018.

Yorktown Town Supervisor Gilbert declares a SNOW EMERGENCY in Yorktown effective 9:00 AM, Wednesday, March 21, 2018. The snow emergency is expected to be in effect until the Town's roadways have been cleared of the snowfall from the pending storm.

The SNOW EMERGENCY is intended to assist Yorktown's Highway Department in its effort to clear the roads of snow and, to assist the Town's emergency service agencies such as police, fire and emergency medical services in their efforts to respond to emergencies.

Yorktown Code 275-14 clearly articulates that "any vehicle parked or abandoned on a public highway in the Town of Yorktown during a snowstorm, flood, fire or other public emergency which affects that portion of the public highway upon which said vehicle is parked or abandoned may be removed by or under the direction of The Chief of Police or the Superintendent of Highways and stored in any suitable place."
