Important information regarding recent residential burglaries in San Marino:
During the past week San Marino has had four burglaries throughout the city. The burglaries occurred on San Marino Avenue, Old Mill Road, Shenandoah Road and Westhaven Road.
One commonality of these burglaries were all the victims were out of town when the incident occurred.
Of the four burglaries, there is one burglary suspect in custody and detectives are looking for leads on additional suspects. This investigation is ongoing.
The San Marino Police Department would like to take this time to remind everyone to make sure they take steps to avoid being victimized.
- If you’re going to be away make sure your house appears occupied. Have lights on throughout the house. Have lights on timers. Keep a radio or TV on.
- If you have an alarm system, make sure you use it at all times even if you’re only leaving for a short time.
- Place motion lights around dark areas of your house.
- Place video surveillance cameras around your house.
