5PM TUESDAY WINTER STORM ADVISORY
5pm Tuesday Winter Storm ADVISORY
The South Brunswick Police and Office of Emergency Management is monitoring another approaching Nor’easter storm. The brunt of the storm is expected to impact our community during the day on Wednesday. Our local weather forecast is calling for between 5 to 10 inches of snow. We will provide updates throughout the storm on the impact to Township roads, power outages, cancellations and closings as well as any other relevant information.
IMPORTANT POINTS
- TO REPORT A POWER OUTAGE CALL PSEG at 1-800-436-7734. (Do Not Call Police Headquarters)
- Remove all vehicles from Township Roads during the snowstorm.
- Charge all electronics – now; in case of power outages later.
FORECAST
Update on Complex Storm System... Sleet, snow and some rain continues to fall across the area this afternoon with little impact, although steadier bursts of sleet over the coming hours could certainly coat up untreated surfaces. We expect a lull in mixed precip for a few hours during the early part of the night before things become steady once again in the pre-dawn on Wednesday as the coastal low approaches.
Any mix with sleet to start changes to all snow thru the AM, although heavy bursts will allow for snow to accumulate on all surfaces, especially during the afternoon hours. This will especially be true with any banded snow that persists through the afternoon/evening. Snow then gradually tapers off during the evening, ending around midnight, although a few flurries may linger.
