A Winter Storm Warning is in effect statewide from Tuesday evening through Thursday morning as heavy snow is in the forecast. Precipitation will begin as rain or a wintry mix for most locations today, changing to snow overnight, with snow statewide on Wednesday.

Mixed precipitation may create slippery conditions on roads, bridges, overpasses, sidewalks, and any untreated surfaces Tuesday. On Wednesday, a heavy, wet snow may impact trees and power lines. Snowfall rates may reach over 1” per hour at times.

PLEASE BE MINDFUL OF THE FOLLOWING:

Please stay off the roadways as the predicted combination of ice, snow and wind gusts will present hazardous driving conditions.

Downed wires should always be considered “live.” Do not approach or drive over a downed line and do not touch anything that it might be in contact with.

To prevent carbon monoxide poisoning, do not run any gasoline powered engine, including generators and snowblowers, in a garage or any other enclosed space.

Please park vehicles off the roadway affording the Public Works Department the opportunity to clear our roads of snow from curb to curb.

Snow Routes have been established and will be enforced, therefore please ensure that you do not park in an area designated as a snow emergency route. Violators will be subject to fines and fees associated with the towing of the vehicle.

In the event of a significant power loss the Senior Center can
be opened as a warming station. Should you need to take advantage of this, please contact the Police Department.
