Heavy Snow, Dangerous Travel, Strong Winds, Expect Trees Down & Power Failure, Tues Eve 3/20-All Day Wed 3/21

Hello All.

I have to be a little serious on this one even though the title sounds like the beginning of a classic novel. NOAA, the news media and more importantly Sgt. Mike McMahon all agree on heavy snow, wind, and ice. I just finished reading the 6am briefing and now I think we need to prepare. I am breaking out the entire gang for this one and our newest Bumble Level 10. We are expected to have very heavy snow that even Yeti's stay home for.
Predictions say 12 to 18 in our area. I am hoping for 7 inches. This is Olaf level 10 snow. Really heavy and something you should not be shoveling (Please read that again). Let your kids make some spring break money on this one because with all the school closings they will be in school anyway.
All the heavy wet snow will put pressure on power lines and the 4 trees left standing in West Windsor.. This opens the door for power outages. (Know your utility contact numbers). Plan ahead - Get bags of ice and put them in the freezer. If the power goes out, keep the door closed and the ice will take over keeping things cold. (On the counter, 1. Bread, 2. Peanut Butter, 3. Fluff. 4. Add bananas for a refreshing summer twist). .Prep the generator, make sure it has oil and you have extra gas. Keep it away from your home and from cracked open windows as a current is created and pulls deadly air into your home. Also start the snow thrower today so its easy tomorrow.
Dorothy level 8 wind. Keep Toto inside safe and warm. If anyone sees animals left outside contact the PD.
I am being told the worst time to travel is ALL day tomorrow. We will see some snow and rain today but this is a warning storm. If possible, stay safe and warm at home. Our officers & Dispatchers, Emergency Services and DPW will be working around the clock but depending on conditions, we may not be able to help right away if you are in a car and stuck on the road. (Keep Kitty Litter, blankets, flashlight, food and water in the car). Litter to help with traction.
I will attach all the safety bulletins and I truly hope we are wrong on this one but best to play it safe. I will hold strong on the curse breaking and will go out in the hight of the storm in my best summer clothes and give my first Moana Summer Index.

Operation Lighthouse will go live tonight and we will monitor social media 24/7. Please remember to use 911 and 609-799-1222 for calls for service and emergencies. Social Media is not for emergencies

Recycling is CANCELLED for Thursday, March 22, 2018. The County will be collecting recycling on Saturday, March 24th. To avoid any possible messes, please do not place your recycling out at the curb until Friday evening. Recycling must be out by 6am to ensure it does not get missed
Garbage Collection is CANCELLED on Wednesday, March 21, 2018.  Waste Management will be collecting Wednesday’s garbage on Thursday. All other residents should follow your regularly scheduled pick up days.  Please have your trash out prior to 6am to ensure that it does not get missed.”

*All Brush Collection is Cancelled Until Further Notice*

Please stay inside, safe and warm.
