Tomorrow officially marks the first day of spring, however, Winter 2018 is still not over in our area.
Old Man Winter is planning on throwing a long duration winter storm at us, starting Tuesday afternoon and finally ending on Wednesday evening. At this time, the latest forecast is for 4 to 8 inches of snow and sleet. While the entire storm is not moderate to heavy, Tuesday evening and daytime Wednesday appears to be the main periods for the heaviest wintry precipitation.
There is also the potential for downed trees and power lines, which could cause power outages, due to the wet nature of the snow on Wednesday combined with strong wind gusts between 30 and 40 miles per hour.
The news of this upcoming storm is obviously depressing for those hoping for warmer temperatures and sunny skies as we head towards April. However, now is the time to get prepared for this winter blast.
Residents are asked to remove their vehicles off the street tomorrow in order for DPW crews to clean the roadways and make it safe for the public.
Residents who live on a designated Snow Emergency street must remove their vehicle from the street. A complete list of Snow Emergency and partial Snow Emergency streets may be found at www.northbrunswicknj.gov/snow/snow-emergency-streets.
