Here is the Crime Information and Public Safety Report for Castaic / Val Verde (Zone 2): 

3/06/18 
Assault- 31000 block of Sapphire Lane
A family disturbance turned physical after a verbal argument. A male adult struck his brother-in-law in the face several times. The victim was treated for his injuries, and the primary aggressor was arrested. 

3/07/18 
Theft- 30000 block of Sloan Canyon
The victim reported a package containing two pairs of shoes was stolen from her front porch during daytime hours. 

3/7/18 
Grand Theft Auto- 27000 block of Live Oak Road
The victim reported that his vehicle was stolen and recovered on the same day. The victim said the keys were left inside the vehicle. The crime occurred during the daytime hours. 

3/9/18 
Theft- 29000 block of Coolidge Avenue
The victim reported a known associate stole tools from his truck after a verbal argument. The crime occurred in the daytime hours. 

Remember, in any community, the citizens are the first set of eyes and ears for 1st responders. It is the community who knows what “does” and “doesn’t” look right. It is you, the local citizens, who can tell who “does” and “doesn’t” belong in the area. If you see any suspicious activity, something that doesn’t look “right”, please call the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station at (661) 255-1121 or 9-1-1 in an emergency. 

Please be aware that many of the thefts we have seen in the past have been “Crimes of Opportunity."  Never leave valuables in plain view in your vehicle, close and lock your doors. Minimize your risk of becoming a victim.
