News Story - Westlake High School Graffiti Investigation

Nature of Incident: Graffiti at Westlake High School Prompts Law Enforcement Investigation Location: Westlake High School 100 North Lakeview Cyn. Rd. Date & Time: 3/14/18 12:05 p.m. Unit Responsible: Thousand Oaks Police Department – Intelligence Led Policing Unit Narrative: On March 14, 2018, graffiti discovered in a restroom at Westlake High School prompted officials to contact the Thousand Oaks Police Department to investigate. The graffiti was determined not to be a credible threat. Thousand Oaks Police school resource officers and detectives responded to the school and conducted a preliminary investigation. The graffiti was similar to an incident that occurred on February 21, 2018. The investigation is continuing. The police department continues to work closely with the school officials to ensure any perceived threat against a school is investigated thoroughly. We encourage members of the community to contact law enforcement anytime they observe suspicious activity. If you see something, say something.
