San Leandro High School following protocol after threatening graffiti message found. Police are investigating
We are sending this message on behalf of the San Leandro Unified School District to notify all SLUSD families that San Leandro High School has located threatening graffiti of a shooting on campus. In response, district leaders decided to place the school on lockdown. This is strictly a precautionary move in order to systematically inspect the school grounds.
The district is following all security procedures to insure student and staff safety. The San Leandro Police Department is on campus working in coordination with district and site administrative staff to insure student and staff safety at the site. Again, this action is solely a precautionary decision to confirm that no threat exist. Once officers clear the campus it is anticipated that the school lockdown will be lifted and parents will be notified.
All students and staff at SLHS are safe as the school implemented their lockdown procedure.
SLHS students cannot be dismissed from campus so parents should not come to the SLHS campus at this time. We will send a follow up communication as soon as more details are available.
All other SLUSD schools are open and safe
