Board of Water Supply (BWS) crews are working to repair a break on an 8-inch main at the intersection of Kalihi St. and Manaiki Pl. Repair is forcing the closure of one lane of traffic at the site. Special duty officers will help mauka-bound motorists to detour onto Nalanieha St., where they can get onto the Likelike Hwy. and access Kalihi Valley via Valley View Dr.
The BWS is providing water wagons in the area for the 63 customers who are without water service.
Residents of Kalihi Valley are still being asked to use water only for essential needs -- cooking, drinking, and personal hygiene -- until further notice.
