LOCATION: Baseline Street and Victoria Avenue

SUSPECT(S): Miguel Delgado, age 26 a resident of Highland

VICTIM(S): People of California

SUMMARY: On March 12, 2018, at approximately 7:15 pm, Deputy Ramstad from the Highland Police Department was en route to an unrelated call when he witnessed a vehicle run a red light at Baseline Street and Victoria at a high rate of speed. Deputy Ramstad attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle. However, the driver, later identified as Miguel Delgado, refused to comply and accelerated away in a 2001 Chevrolet Pickup. Delgado continued traveling at high rate of speed with no regard for public safety crossing over into opposing lanes of traffic. The pursuit ended when Delgado failed to negotiate a turn at Sterling Avenue and Jane Street causing the pickup truck to spin out of control. Delgado was found to be armed with a loaded pistol, ammunition, and a small quantity of suspected cocaine.

Delgado was out of custody on AB109 PRCS felony probation for felon in possession of a firearm. He was arrested, transported and booked into the Central Detention Center for the felony failure to yield, felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, violation of probation, and related drug and firearm charges.
