Just after 4:00pm yesterday two people were walking in the Botanical Gardens off of Dixboro Rd. in Ann Arbor Township when they came across what appeared to be a body partially submerged in the waterway. Township Fire responded and was able to remove the individual and confirm that he was deceased. After further investigation the individual pulled from the water was identified as 26 year old Matthew Urban, who had been missing since Tuesday. This investigation is ongoing, but at this early stage it does not appear that foul play was involved.

The vehicle that Matthew Urban was last seen driving has been located. However, he is still missing and we need your assistance.
The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office is still actively searching for 26yo Matthew Urban, who has been missing since Tuesday afternoon. The vehicle he was last seen driving was located last night about an hour after the original Nixle message was sent. Two people walking outside of WCC’s Health and Fitness Center located his car in the parking lot. The WCSO has been searching along the walking path and area around the Fitness Center and Hospital grounds, but have yet to locate Mr. Urban.

Matthew Urban dropped a relative off at a local business in the 2000 block of Washtenaw Ave. in Ypsilanti around 3:00PM Tuesday afternoon. Mr. Urban never returned home, has not been seen at his place of employment, and has had no use of his phone, social media or financial accounts.
