 The Frankfort Police Department again wants to make residents aware that the Lincoln-Way area, including Frankfort, has been experiencing several break-ins and vehicle thefts. These have been occurring during the overnight hours with the offenders looking for unlocked cars. In past incidents a vehicle will drop off several people who will go out and look for unlocked vehicles, grab items out of them, then quickly leave the area. Unlocked motor vehicles with keys or a key fob left inside are stolen when these offenders come across them.  The easiest way to avoid being a victim of these incidents is to lock your doors. Also remember remove valuables and take them in the house if you are unable then remove them from plain view, and please never leave your keys or key fobs in your car. We also ask that if you see anything out of the ordinary or hear anything, such as a car door shutting or dog barking at an unusual time, call Frankfort Police Department immediately at 911 (emergency) or 815-485-2500 (non-emergency). Working with the community is the best way for you to help us to stop crime. Remember “Lock it or Lose it!!”
