A SNOW Emergency has been declared by the Town of Yorktown, effective 10PM Tuesday, March 6, 2018. This is NOT a State of Emergency Declaration.

A declaration of Snow Emergency is intended to assist Yorktown's Highway Department in its effort to clear the roads of snow and, to assist the Town's emergency service agencies such as police, fire and emergency medical services in their efforts to respond to emergencies.

During a Snow Emergency vehicles left on the roads that create a hazard or hamper snow removal efforts may be towed. Inquires concerning vehicles should be made to the Yorktown Police Department at 962-4141.

Town Supervisor Ilan Gilbert, Chief of Police Robert M. Noble and Highway Superintendent Dave Paganelli are requesting that Yorktown's residents refrain from operating vehicles during the period of the Snow Emergency. The Snow Emergency shall remain in effect until a Rescinding Declaration has been released.

The warming station / shelter at the YCCC (1974 Commerce Street) will be accepting residents until 10PM. If you are in your residence after 10PM, plan on remaining there for at least the next 24-48 hours. If you require emergency assistance, please phone the Yorktown Police Department at 962-4141 or call 911 in an emergency.
