Hazardous Weather Discussion
Snow, rain and mixed precipitation start tonight, with 6” to 14” of snow forecast for northern counties, with locally higher amounts possible. A Winter Storm Warning is in effect this evening through early Thursday AM for the northern half of the state. A Winter Storm Watch is in effect this evening through Wednesday night for central and southern counties along the I-95 corridor.
Impacts to New Jersey
Heaviest snow will fall Wednesday during the day. Snowfall rates of 1” to 2” inches per hour are possible and will make travel difficult. Winds may gust up to 30 mph, higher along the coast. Heavy wet snow and winds may damage trees and power lines. Localized minor coastal flooding is possible during the midday high tide Wednesday.
