Hello Everyone,

On Tuesday March 6th at 10:00am, a Test Tornado Warning will be issued for ALL Illinois Counties. Many locations will test “Outdoor Warning Sirens”, along with most commercial radio and TV stations participating by passing along the test tornado warning. The test warning will also be disseminated through NOAA Weather Radio. This is an ideal time to review severe weather procedures and to conduct a tornado drill for your home, work, school and house of worship.

March 4th through March 10th is Severe Weather Preparedness Week in Illinois. The Grundy County Emergency Management Agency in coordination with the National Weather Service will provide a series of informational messages this week, to better prepare you for the severe weather hazards that can occur during the severe weather season. Information can be found on the Grundy County website, the Grundy County Emergency Management Agency Facebook and Twitter pages, as well as the Grundy County EMA App.

Our Facebook and Twitter pages will feature multiple graphics and videos posted each day this week. This will be a perfect time to assess your own safety plans but more importantly, this will be an opportunity to be a “Force of Nature”. So look for this information and share it with those around you to ensure a better aware, better prepared and better planned Grundy County. When a Disaster occurs, YOU will be the first to respond!
