Driver distraction most common contributing factor to last week's crashes. 
Our goal to have fewer than 1500 crashes per year translates to fewer than 29 crashes per week. During the week of February 25 – March 3 we had 34 crashes, so missed the mark by a little bit. Some of the contributing factors to last week’s crashes were UNSAFE BACKING; FOLLOWING TOO CLOSE; FAIL TO YIELD RIGHT OF WAY; and SPEEDING. But the most frequent contributing factor was DRIVER DISTRACTION. Remember, when you put the car in gear, make sure the brain is in gear too!
