SAPD Homicide Detectives Assist With Garden Grove Police Department OIS

On Friday, March 2, 2018, at 11:33 PM, the Santa Ana Police Department was notified of an officer involved shooting involving officers from the Garden Grove Police Department. The incident occurred at the 7-Eleven convenience store/gas station at 1700 East Dyer Road, Santa Ana.  A Garden Grove police officer shot a 31-year old male suspect in a vehicle.  Orange County Fire Authority paramedics treated and transported the suspect to a local trauma center.  Doctors declared the suspect deceased on Saturday, March 3, 2018, at 12:10 AM.  The suspect’s name will not be released until next of kin have been notified.  
 
Detectives from the Santa Ana Homicide Section and the Orange County District Attorney’s Office are currently investigating the incident.
