Town of Yorktown Supervisor Ilan Gilbert has declared a local State of Emergency in the Town of Yorktown effective 5PM, Friday, March 2nd, 2018. The State of Emergency shall remain in effect until 7AM, Saturday, March 3, 2018. Dangerous winds (30 MPH sustained, wind gusts of 50-60 MPH), have caused many downed power lines. Trees have been uprooted, and blocking multiple roads. Conditions exist that threaten public safety. Travel on roadways in the Town of Yorktown is restricted to emergency vehicles, town highway vehicles, power utility vehicles, and essential emergency personnel. All unnecessary travel is prohibited.
