SMPD Seeks Witnesses to a Hit and Run that Left a Man Injured

On Thursday, March 1, 2018, at about 8:30pm a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle at the intersection of 5th Ave and Humboldt St. At the time of the collision it was a heavy downpour and visibility was limited. The pedestrian was struck while walking in the marked crosswalk. A witness described the vehicle as a blue 2000's Mercedes Benz SUV that left the area eastbound on 4th Ave.  Officers searched the area for the Mercedes, but it was not located. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for moderate injuries.
