Abandoned Vehicle Reporting

Quality of life issues significantly impact the community and are a priority for the Novato Police Department. We identified the need to more quickly respond to reports of abandoned vehicles in the community. After some internal re-organization, we were able to add a Community Service Officer position with little impact to the overall budget. One of the primary focuses of the new Community Service Officer will be to coordinate the abatement of abandoned vehicles as quickly as possible after we receive a report. We are confident this new position will make an impact and reduce the number of abandoned vehicles in the community.

To help us accomplish this goal, the Novato Police Department has updated its webpage to allow for easier reporting of abandoned vehicles:https://novato.org/government/police-department/report-abandoned-vehicles. A link to this page is prominently placed on the homepage: www.novatopolice.org and is the most effective manner for us to quickly respond to your complaint. This webpage enhancement is an example of our continued commitment to provide efficient ways for the public to report information to us and enhance our ongoing traffic safety efforts to include removing abandoned vehicles from the cities roadways.
