Pasadena Police Arrest Suspect dubbed the "Glass Man Burglar"

Pasadena Police Arrest Suspect dubbed the "Glass Man Burglar"

ARRESTED: Kevin Michael Guerrero, 29-years old, Pasadena, CA Resident

PASADENA, CA – On Sunday, February 25th, 2018, Pasadena Police arrested a man dubbed the “Glass Man Burglar” in Pasadena, CA. Probationer Kevin Michael Guerrero, a career criminal, was arrested in connection with a burglary crew that eluded police in Pasadena, Glendale and Arcadia until he was finally arrested by a proactive Pasadena Patrol Officer.

The suspect in the surveillance photo was dubbed the “Glass Man Burglar” due to his method of removing panes of glass, intact, from business doors in order to gain entry, had stolen over $50,000 worth of Urb-E motorized scooters, computers, scratchers, and cigarettes from closed businesses during the early morning hours. The suspect was known to work with accomplices. Detectives suspect Guerrero of always removing the panes of glass. Detective Victor Cass put out several “WANT” flyers with surveillance video images of the suspect, as well as details of his MO.

A break in the case came on February 14th, 2018, when Pasadena Patrol Officer Mario Calderon rolled up on the suspect and his crew breaking into Just Tires, 2480 E. Foothill Blvd., in Pasadena. While the suspect got away on foot, Officer Calderon arrested Gabrielle Girotti-Valdez, 22, of Pasadena. On February 16th, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office filed felony Commercial Burglary charges against Girotti-Valdez. Girotti-Valdez took a plea deal and is currently serving time in jail.

On February 25th, 2018, at about 3:00 AM, Pasadena Patrol Officer Michael Orosco, who had seen and remembered Detective Cass’ “WANT” flyers, saw Guerrero walking east on Colorado Blvd., in the area of Michigan Avenue wearing distinct clothing as depicted in the “WANT” flyers. Guerrero was taken into custody without incident and was found to be in possession of burglary tools.

Detective Cass took the lead on the filing of charges in Pasadena and coordinating with Arcadia Police Detective Kevin Fox and Glendale Police Detective Shaun Carlson to consolidate the filing of charges from all of the cases.

On February 28th, 2018, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office filed 13-felony counts including charges of Commercial Burglary and Possession of Burglary Tools. Guerrero’s arraignment was set for February 28th, 2018. His bail was set at $220,000. The investigation is ongoing.
