Winter Storm Watch until 07:00PM Friday
...SIGNIFICANT SNOW POSSIBLE IN THE HIGHER TERRAIN... .Strong low pressure developing south of New England will draw a steady stream of precipitation across southern New Hampshire Friday. Easterly upslope flow and storm strength will help to cool temperatures enough for snowfall, especially at higher elevations above 1000 feet. It is possible the majority of the precipitation remains as snow in those elevations. Warmer scenarios would result in less snowfall, but colder trends could also increase snow amounts. ...WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM FRIDAY MORNING THROUGH FRIDAY EVENING...
* WHAT...Heavy snow possible. Plan on difficult travel conditions, including during the morning commute on Friday. Tree branches could fall as well. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches, with localized amounts up to 8 inches, are possible. At elevations above 1000 feet snow accumulations may approach a foot or more.
* WHERE...Sullivan, Cheshire and Western and Central Hillsborough Counties.
* WHEN...From Friday morning through Friday evening.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow covered and slippery roads, and significant reductions in visibility are possible. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Winter Storm Watch means there is potential for significant snow, sleet or ice accumulations that may impact travel. Continue to monitor the latest forecasts.
* AFFECTED AREAS: CHESHIRE ... SULLIVAN ... WESTERN AND CENTRAL HILLSBOROUGH
