25 year old suspect arrested for auto burglary earlier this month
On January 19, 2018, Fremont Police patrol officers responded to multiple auto burglaries at the Pacific Commons Shopping plaza and surrounding businesses. Officers recovered video surveillance from multiple businesses which led to the identification of a suspect vehicle from License Plate Reader cameras.
Detectives also located business video surveillance of the suspect using stolen credit cards from the burglaries. The suspect was identified as 25 year old Uriah Harris of San Francisco. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Harris and began searching for him.
On February 1, 2018, FPD Detectives observed Harris in the Berkeley Hills in the same suspect vehicle. Detectives contacted East Bay Regional Parks Police Department for assistance. EBRPD patrol units and their helicopter responded to the scene where they detained Harris on his Fremont warrant.
FPD Detectives took custody of Harris and later booked him at Santa Rita Jail on multiple burglary, identify theft, and unauthorized use of credit card charges. He was also arrested for committing a felony while out on bail from an auto burglary arrest by US Park Rangers at Golden Gate National Park.
As a friendly reminder, please never leave valuables in your vehicle.
