San Leandro Police Detectives arrest pair in robbery series
On Thursday, February 22nd, San Leandro Police Detectives arrested two male individuals in connection with a series of strong-arm robberies in San Leandro. 18 yr-old Hayward resident Jamont Baldwin was arrested with a juvenile suspect after an extensive investigation that led to their identity. The pair is suspected of committing at least four robberies in San Leandro including two that occurred in the Costco parking lot.
After their arrest, evidence and other items suggest that the pair may be responsible for other robberies in the area. "The juvenile suspect has since been released pending further investigation, however, the case against the adult male has been presented to the District Attorney for charging," said San Leandro Police Lt. Isaac Benabou.
On Monday, February 27th the Alameda County District Attorney reviewed the case and charged Baldwin with one count of robbery. These investigations are on-going as detectives continue to examine further leads into their involvement.
Jamont Baldwin remains in custody at Alameda County's Santa Rita Jail in Dublin.
