Incident: Felon with a loaded firearm

Suspect: James Cornn, 29, San Leandro

Charges: 29800(a)(1) PC, 25400(a)(2) PC, 30305(a)(1) PC & 25850(a)PC

Narrative: Emeryville dispatch received a call from a guest, who was staying at the Courtyard by Marriott. The caller wanted to report that an unknown male was knocking on her door and she believed he was in possession a weapon. Officers responded to the hotel and contacted hotel security, who told officers the subject was standing in the lobby area of the 5th floor.

Officers proceeded to the 5th floor where they contacted the subject, who was later identified as James Cornn. Cornn was cooperative and followed the officer’s directions. Cornn told Officers he had a firearm in his right front jacket pocket. An officer removed the firearm from Cornn jacket pocket without incident and secured it. Cornn was arrested and transported to jail.
