The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community.

February 26th

0928 Hours: Officers responded to a disturbance on the 6200 block of Mayhews Landing Road. A 46-year-old Newark male was arrested for violation of a restraining order and subsequently booked into the Santa Rita Jail.

1004 Hours: Officer Pacheco investigated a trespassing and vandalism incident at Morris and Son’s Towing, 8150 Enterprise Drive.

1215 Hours: Officer Mavrakis investigated a stolen White 1997 Honda Accord (CA License #6LSC673) on the 5100 block of Dupont Avenue.

1219 Hours: Officers responded to a disturbance on the 5600 block of Portsmouth Avenue. A 27-year-old transient female was arrested for battery and later released from the Police Station on a citation to appear in court.

1612 Hours: While investigating a non-injury traffic collision on Baine Avenue at Cherry Street, one of the drivers provided Officer Pacheco with a counterfeit California identification card. The suspect was arrested and booked into the Fremont Jail.

1852 Hours: Officer Norvell responded to a disturbance on the 7200 block of Thornton Avenue. A 26-year-old Newark male was contacted and arrested for public intoxication and subsequently booked into the Santa Rita Jail.
