Date/Time Occurred: Incident Case Number: February 24, 2018, 7:07 PM, 1802-1920

Narrative: On February 24, 2018 at 7:07 PM, Emeryville officers responded to the Avenue 64 apartment complex on the report of three suspects attempting to enter apartments by checking the door handles. The witness reported the three subjects attempted to enter her apartment by rattling the front door knob and pushing on the front door. The witness watched the three suspects walk down the hallway trying the door knobs on her neighbors’ front doors. The alert witness called the police department to respond.

Officers arrived on scene and stopped three subjects that matched the description of the suspects. The witness positively identified the subjects detained as the suspects. Officers also discovered that the suspects also opened mail packages that belonged to an Avenue 64 resident. The suspects moved the mail packages into a utility room and ransacked the boxes. All three suspects were juveniles and they were placed under arrest for prowling and theft.
